Default Older Sunrider Soft Top - Sail Flaps are VERY Loose - Any good fix for this?

Greetings -

Have had my 2010 2 door JK for a couple years now, it still has the original sunrider (not premium) top. When I remove the rear and side windows, the rear corner 'sail flaps'? don't seem to fit very well and tend to flap around a lot. At times, they will come loose at highway speeds.

Is there any kind of fix for this? It's somewhat embarrassing to have to pull over to refit them back on the rear corners. It seems like there might be some way to tighten them, but I'm just not seeing it.

Thanks! Here are a couple pictures of that they look like now.. Do I just need a fresh un-stretched top?

The manual says not to exceed 25-35mph with the side and rear windows out- probably because of issues like that.

I've also got a 10 with the original top that I recently replaced with a premium top. It's much tighter but I still won't drive around with the sail panels hanging on by themselves, it's just asking for trouble down the road and the 2dr tops are getting harder to find in great, used condition.

Ahhhh, the good ol' manual.. :P Mine didn't come with a manual, I can't read, or something like that.

Thanks though, I appreciate the reply. I've seen plenty of people driving around with all three windows out and sail panels seem nice and tight., but not mine!

Glad I'm not the only one at least. I've been looking at the Besttop Fastback style tops for when this one finally gives up. Colorado winters are rough on soft tops, and this one is now 6 years old.

I wonder if adding a rolled up towel above the sound bar or something would work to help tension the sail panels a little bit. Never hurts to have a spare towel when running without the windows!

Oh well, thanks, and Cheers!

I have a 2010 and never had any issues with the sail panels even at highway speeds. And I just replaced my soft top with RR Exo-Top much better.

Mail sail panel are not as bad as your but they are going that way.
I need to replace my front header from the crappy plastic one to the metal one. I will use this opportunity to remove the slack it pick up over the years.
