homegrown skidplate!

Cost me two hours... all made from 1/4 inch scrap I had in my garage!

Glued and braced with two braces...

Used a bench vice/ a sawsall/ a grinder, and hammer!

Thanks for all the responses and info guys! Exactly what I was looking for. I have never been really close to hitting it and for the most part, the oil pan is clear of scrapes(minor scratches from sticks) but I'd rather be safe than sorry. Thanks again for all your responses!! It is greatly appreciated!!

I am getting this one. I like the oil drain access on it.

Rancho here. It fell off, fortunately just on a dirt road. I used JB Weld the second time. And safety wired it (as they picture on their website, but not in the install literature). It's been secure for a couple years now.

BTW: It might be rare to damage the oil pan, but I ran with one guy (JackMac4 on the forum) who tore his up. Cost him a couple hundred for parts, plus the time to replace both the lower and upper oil pans.

river raider here, they'll sell you just the oil pan skid and it's beefy as hell! I had a lot of problems with the Benchmark... when I removed the old pan some of the bolts were stripped from the factory and couldn't be repaired so after waiting over 2 mos+, and finding out that I couldn't use the skid anyway I went this route since the idea of a "glue on " skid didn't really appeal to me.

I have the Rockhard skids, Nice setup but overkill for most. The Benchmark Oil Pan & RockKrawler Tranny pan is how I would go if i had it to do over again. I dont need all the skids anymore.
