Default Oil pan skid plate

Does anyone run an oil pan skid? I'm interested I'm getting one but don't know how strong/effective they really are? Any suggestions would be great?!

Yes i would run one. You don't want to puncture the oil pan and not be able to leave the trail safely. Benchmark designs makes a replacement oil pan, and it looks really stout. or you could go with a traditional skid for it.

Also look at Rancho and River Raider skids.

I have the Rancho skid that you silicone on. It is excellent and does not come off if put on correctly.

I just put on the rock hard oil pan /transfer case and cat converter skid and all I can say is that it is a great product.

the odds of you ever hitting your oil pan and enough so to cause any significant damage is really low. but, being that it's better safe than sorry, this is all that you really need...

or this...

trust me on this. anything more is simply not needed and can actually trap in unwanted heat.

WOL,

Of those two do you have a preference? Like the look of the benchmark but was looking for your thoughts.

Thanks

i really like the benchmark HD pan but, the rancho skid works just fine as well. the only problem with benchmark is that you'll have to wait a really long time to get your order. the rancho you can probably pickup at your local off road store.

In regards to the Benchmark, I ordered mine in mid February and got it yesterday. Don't expect any communication until the shipping confirmation and only the shipping confirmation (and the one you get with your automated order confirmation is bogus, don't get excited) Glad I waited though, it looks and feels great. Now all I have to do is install it.
