I wonder if they re-honed the cylinders.

Hopefully he did. Honing for new rings is done so the new rings will seat.
If he didn't, maybe the new rings today are designed to not need a honed cylinder.
Unlikely, but always possible, I guess.

Default 3.8 oil consumption

Well here in Alberta Canada I have had a terrible experience with my 2010 Sahara 3.8. It has 52 000 km now and been drinking oil since day 1.

Dealer admits that it takes oil but after doing consumption test.
Says that 1 liter per 1600km is normal and refused to do anything about it.
Emailed Chrysler Canada about my concerns and they just said the same thing.

So Jeep Canada says it drinks oil its normal so " suck it up . "

Tried 10w30 after the dispute and still consumes insane amounts of oil.

When I check oil one day its full at the line when the vehicle is parked on level ground. Few days later parked in the same spot, cold engine, its low over a liter bellow the safe zone. No smoke out the back, no hesitation, engine feels fairly responsive ( manual transmission ).

Dealer does not care wish I knew of a fix, I would pay or repair it myself.

Replacing the PVC valve pretty much took care of my oil usage, along with using Chrysler intake cleaner
