So I have been working on doing more of my own maintenance...this includes my diffs and now engine oil. I used the write up from this forum (which was awesome BTW)...however, it called for 6 quarts, but I do not think anyone has every put that much in my JK prior to me doing it. I spilled a little here and there...I am a newb at this sort of thing...but even with a little spillage, I double checked after 5 qts and felt like a bit more would not hurt. Now I am well in the safe zone and it looks and runs fine....I do, however, have two questions...

For any oil that spilled, is there a way to remove it or must I wait for to just burn off?

Is it possible that the dealer (Chrysler/Jeep) dealers did not put enough oil in all this time?
