anybody know what companies will cover "playtime", or trail runs?
I found lots of companies that have great rates, but wont cover you if you leave paved road....not even some of the farm roads I have to go down to visit people.
Also, most wont cover any accessories/upgrades...even the same companies that covered up to 6k extras on my scooters.
One told me I could have my extras back if it was totaled, but what good does that do me?
there are a lot of threads on here about insurance cost, but I have found there is more to it than just the premiums.
Any ideas, guys?

my current insurance "Peerless" covers playtime. so did my past insurance "Travelers"
before I started the policies I spoke with them, they told me all 4x4's pay an additional premium because if the vehicle is capable of off roading, they assume they off road.
I still read my policies closely and had my dads good friend which is a lawyer read them and he said "your covered" both policies specifically say what they do not cover, and off roading is not one of them.
your insurance didnt cover you? or you didnt try?

they denied my claim, saying they didnt cover off road accidents, except in the case of an accident in which the vehicle left the roadway as a result of the accident.
they said they will cover some claims while parked off road
(theft, tree falling in my driveway, etc.), but not actively driving offroad.

You know I've done my research when it comes to comprehensive claims but I never actually worried about accidents off road. I just assumed it was industry standard to put the burden squarely on the shoulders of the insured in that instance, not the insurer.
I'm pretty confident I know the answer to this question is going to be "No" but does State Farm cover off road incidents?
