October 2008 Jeep Incentives
#21
I'm still seeing 1500 on the web. Don't know why it would go down to 1000. Plus, you can always haggle down a bit on top of that. My MSRP was 25895 and was taken down to 22100 or so with a 1500 rebate and some money off. Basically it was EP plus 200 bucks....

Depending where you are in the country, the customer incentive is either $1000, $1500 or $1750. It's $1000 in Mass. BTW, don't tell them you have a trade in until you cut your best deal. You need to negotiate the new car price and the trade in separately.

Here's my update. Despite the fact that I thought I could get $6000 of MRSP, I now have a written quote for an '08 4dr Rubicon fully loaded w/Nav, Dual Top Group, Auto, Tow, Power Conv. and Deep Tint Windows at $5700 under MSRP or about $2650 under invoice (give or take a few bucks). The $300 difference is a little annoying, but not too bad AND I haven't negotiated it in person yet. I'll go down to the dealer tomorrow to take look, give it a drive and, hopefully, complete the transaction with the full discount I expected.
In the meantime, my other two dealers are MIA, but I still hope to hear from them. As a result, I don't know yet what exactly the $5700 discount consists of and how much Chrysler is kicking in as a dealer incentive, but I'll let you know as soon as I find out.
For those of you in the market, I think $5700 off on a new Rubi is pretty good. I hope you can meet or exceed it. Please let everyone know how you make out in your buying saga!

Final Chapter. Just before I went down to see the 2008 4dr Rubicon at $5700 off MSRP this afternoon, the dealer I ordered the 2009 from came back with an offer I couldn't refuse. $1900 under invoice ($4705 off MSRP) and I get any incentives outstanding when the vehicle is delivered. If you're interested in the $5700 of MSRP on the '08, PM me and I'll give you the contact at the dealer who offered it (I hope that doesn't break any forum rules - please let me know if it does). I can't give the name of the dealer I got mine from because I don't think anyone will get it from him, but you might get it elsewhere. Essentially they earn $0 since to get to that price they had to give me the holdback, the manufacturer marketing support and n/c for incidentals like DAA and PPA. The word from other dealers I worked with is that Chrysler is giving no dealer support other than the $1000/1500/1750 customer rebate in different parts of the country. That's bad news for the dealers. Now they just want to blow the inventory out and get out from under the debt they have on that inventory.
I've posted enough on this subject. My next thread. What does everyone recommend that I add/change on the stock vehicle?
Good luck with your deal and happy trails!
