Once you GET IT you will be amazed how easy it is. I could not get my apart the first time and posted on here asking a couple of questions and now can disconnect the clip in 5 or 6 seconds with one hand in the dark. I kid you not it is that simple, but you just have to KNOW how to do it.

I completely agree... I was cussing and throwing shit... It really pissed me off... I even checked the forum to see if I was doing something wrong. I would get so pissed that I would have to leave my Jeep for an hour and then come back. Finally it came off... I had been pressing that tab but I guess I was just not pressing it just right... anyway. I have it figure out now. It is one of those things... you just have to do it to figure it out.

So I finally have my drean garage a 24' x 24' with high ceilings and being that it will be close to 90 for the next three days I decided...let's get those doors off.....but the manual doesn't give you the exact details as to how to disconnecft the doors ( red tab moves but a small black tab moves and breaks... ) and afterwards you need to not only remove the hinge but two torx screws.... , OK I can deal with the hardware but can someone tell me how to disconnect the cables w/out breaking any more tabs...grrr
Thanks...frustrated in Seattle....lol.........not really just momentarily confused in MA....

slie the red tab out (away from the centerline) then push in the black button and pull.

the one for the hardtop (at the rear window) comes in and out easily for me. the ones for the doors would not come out without fighting with them for 20 minutes, using a flathead screwdriver and a pair of pliers.

Something that has made the process easier for me is to slide the red tab as described, but while pressing the black tab, push the connectors together, then pull them apart.
It seems that on my JK at least, the black latch doesn't fully release until the connectors are pushed together.

This is something that has me screwed as well. I fight every damn time I try including the one that goes into the hard top. The wife just unplugs them no problem. I have conceded and let her do it. Besides removing the doors I prefer to have her as a spotter anyway so I don't trip and drop something. The top it takes the two of us to do anyway so hey she is there for that if I even plug the motor in.
BTW we got the doors and top off and on in 30 min flat this weekend in Florida. We also got rained in (with safari top) twice real hard. The damn carpet needs to allow water to drain better but it dried out the next day (only to face another afternoon monsoon) but it was dry from sitting in the sun after lunch yesterday.
