2012, 2 door Rubicon, 2800 miles. I had very bad mpg and low HP for the first 600 miles. After that all hell broke loose on the HP and I'm getting around 19.5 - 20.0 mpg on combined city and highway. Highway 65 - 75 mph, stock tires with Savegre Wheels.

'12 Sport, auto, 3.21 gears here. I got about 17 mpg my first couple of tanks. I'm up to just over 2K on it now and my last fill up was 18.8 (both on the computer and hand calculated). My drive is mostly back roads, 40-45 mph with a couple of stop lights and stop signs. Only mods are a leveling spacer in the front and some stock take-off 255-75-17's on Moab wheels. I used the ProCal to get the speedometer corrected and it is GPS verified.
I learned how to get decent mileage out of a Jeep with my last vehicle, a 1998 5.9 limited Grand Cherokee. I got about 14mpg around town, 16 on the highway with it. Slower starts, anticipate stops early and keep the RPM's steady.
A 235-85-16 is a 32" tire. A 255-85-16 is a true 33" tall. I have them on my 5.9 ZJ and like them so far.

Hi all,
Just an update. I have over 3000 miles on my 2012 Jeep now.
First 1500 miles had me worried cause at best 17mpg was rare.
Now, from 2000~3000 miles I finally get 300~325 miles per 17gallon tank of same mixed driving.
So, the mileage does improve with a llittle bit of engine use. Maybe a AirRaid, Catback, and chip willl help that a tiny bit more.
I want to downgrade to some 16in Wheels (in white color) and put some 235/85/16 aka. 33in wheels that are 9.5in wide = pizza cutter look. That might help
Thank you all for the replies.

Thanks,
This whole tire thing has me confused more often than not
What I want is 33in tall tires by 9.5in wide. I would like to keep my 17in Moab wheels and just powercoat/paint them in White.
I just cant find any 33in tires by 9.5in wide. Especially hard to find in 17in rims.
