Had Wet Okole in my 4Runner. After 5 years the yellow faded and they just began to separate (the yellow from the rubber) on the seat itself and it also started to wear through (a hole). I did do some maintenance on them (UV treatments, shampoos etc.) with the MFG branded products, but probably not as much as I should have.

All in all they are great and when my jeep seats get worn out will go for wet okole again, I just wouldn't use yellow.

I jumped into a jeep with neoprene seat covers for the first time over the weekend. (hardtop, doors on) Smittybilt's. There was the faint smell of, well, neoprene. Is that just part of having neoprene covers, or just a one off? That smell alone would send me personally over to another cover material.

I went with the ones you see on ebay that have the corners of the factory seat exposed. I don't reccomend buying these if you have a dog. the parts exposed got dirty and worn down while the rest of the seat look great. seat covers held together nicely though.

I bought Coverkings from Quadratec and so far I really like them. Easy to install, and they really perked up my Jeep. I paid $140 with free shipping.

I bought the Mopar neoprene seat covers on eBay and paid $200 for the complete set (front and rear).

The quality is great and the neoprene is pretty thick. I also don't seem to get the dreaded "swamp ass" feeling that I used to get in the summer with the Wet Okole covers that I had in my YJ.

The only complaint I have is that the attachment clips for the front seat bottoms aren't as well thought out or as well placed and the Mopar TJ version.

I have the rugged ridge, and they have started to wear a little after two years. One where I slide my butt across the seam, and a much smaller one where my much lighter wife slides her butt across. But they are good for another year at least. And at half the price of the Wet Okoles, I figure I can get another set next year and have brand new, and clean, covers in there for the same price. Even if the Okoles last 10 years, that kinda eliminates the point of covers IMHO. Covers are there so you can get them dirty, abuse them and swap them out on a semi-regular basis. If you are okay with a dirty seat cover, why not just be okay with a dirty stock seat, and they will definitely last ten years. And if you aren't going to get them dirty at all, why do you need covers?

Mainly, don't get a cover to last the life of the vehicle. They are made to take the abuse and wear, and replace. If Wet Okole price is no big deal go for them, they definitely look better.

I had Wet Okole's a few years back on my TJ. I was living in deep South Texas with extreme heat, and had the top off the jeep most days. The neoprene seat covers faded very rapidly and within the first year were literally crumbling apart.

I am sure it was mostly my fault for not putting the top back on and not treating with the special fluid they give you. I am wondering, you guys with the Wet Okole's lasting for multiple years, are you using the special cleaner and preservative fluids? Do you ever take your top off for extended periods of time?
