Default Need help.

Hey all you fellow JK nuts. I need the answer to a question.
I've got to take some 8' boards and tools up to NY from NC to do a job.
Is there anyway to lay the passenger seat down flat without taking out the rear seat. My rear headrests are bungeed down anyway - but I can't seem to figure this out. Damn - I wish I had won that rack.

That's a tough one. Do you need the front seat and back seat when you get to NC?

No I don't need the rear seat. I'm going to leave it in NC if I have to and re-install when I get back from NY. Might need the front in NY. Might meet a Babe who doesn't want to be strapped to the bumper.

I'm assuming that you have a 2 door

If you don't expect to have any passengers going up, take out the front seat, too. Put it behind the drivers seat.

I haven't measured, but I'm pretty sure that you can get something 8' long into the Jeep then with the tailgate closed.

If there isn't 8' in the Jeep. Take out the back window, remove the spare and put it inside and rest the 8' object on the tailgate.

I just saw where you are from. I grew up in Spencer

No offense meant but this is what trailers are for.

I have to concur with the fact you will have to take the rear seat out to fold the front down enough. Not sure how far it will go though so it might not work after all that. Good luck with getting it done and all in there I am so glad it is not me.

I'm trying to avoid taking my trailer. It doubles the tolls because I have to go through DC and hit the New Jersey Turnpike and you can't find a parking place in Brooklyn Heights with one. You'd be lucky to park just the Jeep. I guess I will have to take the trailer because i really don't want to mess with seats, airbags etc. Any other ideas?

Rent a pickup with unlimited miles and drive it back and forth. How long you gonna be in NY?

Wait a minute, you're from Salisbury, NC....just go into anyone's yard, choose a pickup truck you like and return it when you get back. They'll never know it's gone. Just kidding - I drive through Salisbury when going to Charlotte from Raleigh. I'd lend you a pickup if I had one.
