I know it hasn't been that long since I ordered my JK (10-03-07) but there has not been any action on it and I am not a patient person. I have found another Jeep 150 miles away that has everything on it I want except it has the auto trans instead of the 6 speed. I am not a "big" off roader, just wanted to stick for fun mainly (plus my wife doesn't like driving a manual, I know I am selfish). I guess what I am getting at is: Should I just pull the trigger and buy the auto or wait for the manual to be built eventually? With the 3.73 gears is there really any advantage to either one? Any help would be appreciated!

 

If that's the only difference between the two, then I'd go ahead and get the auto instead of waiting. I say this because I too am not a patient person, so I know how you feel. That said, I LOVE my 6-speed and would not be as happy with an auto (I think). This is the first manual 4wd I've had and I've gotta say that it is definately easier to drive an auto off road than the manual....at least for me. So really, it depends on just how much you want that 6-speed.....if you can live without it, get the one that you can buy NOW and start enjoying the fun of the JK!
