My time is coming!
Looking at used JK's online last night and showed the wife a couple that I liked, she then said, "nice" in that way that means she really doesn't care, but it is making you happy kinda way, and then she blurts out, what is your plan? I said the WJ, that is 10 years old, 125K miles on it, is leaking a little, transmission is binding up and releasing when I come to a stop, and that I don't want to put any money into it on a major repair or replacement like tires which are wearing down, that I would like to save up between now and September before I buy a new (used) one, but this is a great time to buy and I want to be able to get a little money out of the WJ and not have to fix it. She went "hmmmm" and half assed shook her head in agreement. Her car will be paid for in February....that is the main thing we have to get done... so it might be soon...

lucky you
u might get a better deal on a new 08 if ur dealer has any left. just make em put the mopar lift, bumpers and a set of driving lights on it so u won't have to fight with ur wife for mod money or fight with ur dealer about mods when it comes time to get warranty work done. don't get an automatic either.

Here is the communications between me and the internet manager dude.
TimeLine is in reverse, the newest conversation is at the top.
So far they are not going to get my business. This is not a time in the economy, especially for them, to pull out big shot car sales bs, they need the sale a whole hell of a lot more than I(we) need to buy.

Dear Carguy.
Then I would not purchase at this time. They payment is quite a bit out of the range of what I am willing to pay. Like I mentioned, I will consider going beyond 60 months, and I have seen from Chrysler Finance, rates at 7.9%. Also, this deal doesn't seem to have the employee pricing that has started this month. I would need to see the invoice for the particular Jeep, or one that is on your lot along with the hold back cash that is built in.
I do prefer the 2009, but that is not the final decision on that.
I built my own on the Jeep website, and the Red Rock, with the S option package and other options, minus the side airbags that your model has, has a MSRP of $29,365, (yours is $30,080), once the employee pricing is put in ($2,688) and the incentives for February, which is about $1500 total), the NET MSRP is down to $25,177. (Add $490 for the side airbags). This is all based on MSRP numbers, and I am not willing to pay MSRP, we will need to work from the Dealer Invoice price. This was taken from the jeep.com as of 2/2/09. I understand that prices and incentives vary from dealer to dealer.
Please let me know.
Mr. db99wj,
We missed the window for the 0% for 60 months. The new programs are 0% for 48 and 5.9% for 60. I have found a 2008 that is everything you want except the trailer tow pkg, which you can add later. With out looking at your trade and possibly getting more than I think it is worth your note come to about $448.85. That is buying it from another dealer and going to get it for you. Also a new one comes with the lifetime powertrain warranty that a used one will not have. Your chances of finding a used one the way you described are extremely small. I have called the dealer and he said I can come and pick up this car. Let me know if this will work for you. The only way to get your note lower is with cash ($1,000 cash equals $20.00 in payments).
I left out the intro stuff, me describing what I want, the package, etc, my trade in description, my time frame. Also left out, was the fact that the first guy, quit the dealership the day after my first correspondence.
