Narrowly avoided two herds of deer on my road trip from Idaho to the east coast. Not the smartest creatures on the planet...
On a side note, I always feel horrible about killing something in the road (and I'm not a PETA member by any means). I've just never understood the heartlessness it takes to run over an animal intentionally, especially when it can cause heartache for its owners if it's domesticated.
As a kid, my parents pulled over onto a shoulder to let me get out and rescue a turtle in the middle of a lane. As I patiently waited for the lone car behind us to pass over it, the driver managed to run it over, with obvious intent. Besides the sickening sound, I was heartbroken and sincerely had several nightmares of the event. I don't condone unwarrented violence, but would have taken a tire iron to the asshole if I had the chance.

I have several lizards and a snake with my JK. I did hit a hawk in another car. That scared the crap out of me, he seemed to come out of nowhere.
Here is one where I stopped and let him pass last month. I figured that we would both be losers if I hit him.

I hit a huge turkey a few days ago. It was extra bad because I had the doors off and I couldn't find tom turkey after the collision. I hit him hard enough for the outline of my crash can on the bumper.
