My Jeep has a mind of its own.
Has this happened to you . Some days my Jeep has no pick up at all the gears change at the wrong time and driving it feels plain weird. Other days it feels like a totally different vehicle great acceleration and power to spare and great throttle feel. One day I ride a Donkey and the next day a Race Horse. I have an automatic transmission and 6000 miles.

I don't have that problem. Mine has power any time I ask for it. It responds well and unless I am trying to push it to pass someone accelerating from hwy speed to faster to get around someone it accelerates well. In fact it goes 0 to 60 so fast I think I will get a ticket when I punch it to get out on the main road and get up to speed.

Mine did that the other day and it is a 6sp. I thought WTF, even shifting was weird, I even stalled it a couple of times. Drove / ran like a different vehicle. I guess we will just have to wait for an aftermarket programer cause Jeep can't seem to get their crap together.

Seriously, though, I've noticed some fluctuation in my Jeep's performance too. I wouldn't say it's ever "weak," but it is pretty hesistant to "perform" sometimes. On other days, it IS a rocket, and has power to spare.
I've done this: If I'm driving into work in the morning and it's a dog, I'll pull over (rural roads) and shut it down. Wait a few seconds, restart, and you're usually good to go... So if your Jeep wakes up on the wrong side of the bed, put it back to sleep for a minute, and hope that it wakes up as Hyde instead of Jeckel.

You have to look at your build dates and see if your flashes are up to date. There are some DC TSBs here on Project-JK, I had to bring the printout of the TSB before they would flash mine. No problems since...

It's the...
Gas! Or should I say the bottled Evian they're putting in it to jack the prices up so high!
Mine does it too but I've noticed it really depends on where I fill up and the occassional attempt at stalling going down steeper terrain.

I have taken a lot of time to discover this. There are some gas stations now that are mixing 10% ethanol in the gas now. It will state it at the pump. If you but gas with 10% ethanol then your MPG will go down about 2-3 (in my experience anyway) and there seems to be a lack of power. I have been testing this theory for about 2 weeks now and this is what I have come up with. Hope this helps.
