I picked both because I don't see a lot of mud here, but when I do, I try to hit it. But with that being said, if I've had my mud fix recently and I had to choose one or the other, I'd go rocks.

I'd rather be on the rocks any day. I hate mud and not in a love hate way, just a hate way. When I lived and wheeled in Minnesota I became very familiar with it. It can be fun enough, but usually is just a nightmare.
Both can be just as damaging in different ways, but with rocks you can get out and scout out the obstacle and decide how and if you'll approach it. With mud it's all in or out and pray there's nothing going to take you to 0 mph in 0 zero seconds hidden in your path. Not to mention plodding through it when you envitably get stuck.

I don't like mud for one reason...I don't like it getting underneath and inside everything. The clean-up is the worst part. I would much prefer a nice rocky trail with a creek to cross now and again.

Am I the only one who wheels with the carpets out before they get dirty? No matter where I am wheeling those carpets come out. It makes cleanup so much easier and that is one more thing not to worry about.
