Default Mount washington climb/decent

Thinking about taking my Jeep up mount Washington with a few buddies with my doors and top off. Sounds like a blast. Anyone every try it or something similar?

..they deny Hummers on the mountain. I laughed a little bit..

That sounds about right.. I heard it could be bad We weren't planning on until the summer. Maybe topless/doorless isn't a good idea. But still think it would be great

They have a reception building at the top of the mountain. Somewhere in there they have a plaque with the names of all the hikers that have died on the mountain along with the dates. People have died on that mountain in July and August. If you go with your top off, make sure you have some very warm clothes just in case.

Did it last year in July. It was 80+ at the base and 40 at the top with 40mph winds (cold as shit) with shorts and flip flops on. Also on the desent be prepared to over heat your brakes to the point of having to pull over to let them cool off.
All in all it was fun but def. something I wouldnt do again.

Are there roads that go to the top? A long time ago, I lived in Vermont for a year and was supposed to go to hike that and snowboard, but the morning we were leaving a guy told us they had had some avalanches there in the past couple days, so we decided against it. I was good to go, but the other two guys had families and it wasn't worth the risk. I ever move back east I'm gonna go do it. Looks like a cool place.

Our family did it several times when I was growing up in VT. Windy and cold even in summertime. Another you might think about in the area is Mount Equinox.
Hummers are probably off limits because the road is narrow with steep drops.

I ride Mt. Washington every year on my motorcycle, during bike weekin in June. The weather is insane, can be great at the bottom, and crap on top. 1 year was cloudy and 35, the next year 75 and could see Canada. Then one year it rained once we were at the top, could not see the person in front of you on the way down. If that person went off the rode, you would follow his flashing light over the edge too. But it is a great ride on a bike or Jeep. Enjoy it
