You are misinformed. The 3.6 has been out for over a year in multiple applications, with not a single recall. Meanwhile 3.8 engines continue to knock, burn oil, spin bearings and shit-out with no warning a decade after the motor was introduced. One of us is guessing and one is posting actual facts.

Sounds like jealousy a little. You own a '10 so are you impartial?
Do some new setups have issues? Yes. Do tryed and true setups have issues? Yes.
They said the same thing about my '97 TJ, I never had a problem. My tried and true 7.3L diesel has been a major headache.
Why bag on something until you see how it does?

'08 running like a champ! Have had the standard Jeep "features" installed: interior auto wash (leaky soft-top), squeaky clutch, etc. All easy fixes. Jeep runs better and has fewer problems than my wife's Honda.

I think I have to agree with 181 on this one. Chrysler had 20 years to get the 3.8 right, but my 3.8 knocks on start up and burns a quart of oil every 1K miles. They made it easy to work on because you will be working on it. Yes, there are a lot of people that have had zero problems with their engine. But for a relatively new platform, there are more than there should be with engine problems.

Mine says Final Assembly Toledo, OH
Engine: United States
Transmission: Germany.
The only problem I've had with my 2012 was with a steering angle sensor and thats apparently an issue experienced by all year JK's...
