You are close enough to a major city that you can probably find a "mod friendly" dealership (maybe try the local forum)... if you lift your jeep for bigger tires there is no way they can void your warranty for an AC or an electrial issue (if they do find another dealership, but don't piss them off). Obviously they are less likely to warranty your driveshaft or axles with lift and bigger tires, but its not like these things fail all the time.

I was in your same situation when I bought my Jeep where I wanted bigger tires but I was worried about the warranty... I thought about running 33's with no lift... but I knew I wouldn't be happy with that and went to 35's.

Just go all in... you know you want get a lift, throw caution to the wind!

Get the rubicon take off wheels and tires and find 19/60 springs/shocks from a member or buy new from jeep.

That way everything is factory from jeep and they can say its from aftermarket parts causing wear on items. You will be very surprised where a stock jeep can go. Once you get the springs and wheels save up for bumpers, winch, recovery gear, lighting, rock rails and the list goes on.
I went this route. Rubi shocks, 18/59 springs, tires and wheels 255/75/17, and 1.5" spacers.
All bought from forum members slightly used.
Best of all it coast me $1175.00 total and I installed with the help of a buddy

Love the look and stance. Ride is much better IMO. I know I can install larger tires on down the road too.

You couldn't be more incorrect. Even if all you did was lift a Prius, Fiesta, Civic, etc, it would drop their mileage considerably too. When you lift things you expose components that now become part of the entire picture of what will cause more aerodynamic drag for your vehicle. It is no different than if you take an extremely aerodynamic car and place a roof rack, big flat Offroad lights, anything that will upset a smooth air flow now becomes a wind brake.

This thread is one of HUNDREDS identical to others on this forum, no need to regurgitate those threads here all over again.

Thanks for the post, but i disagree with your comment on how this thread is identical to others on this forum. Show me a link to a forum that is identical because i've looked at 100's of forums and nothing gives the anwser is 287/75/r16's will work with 4.5" backspacing with no rubbing at full turn or off road. Everyone that has 33" inch tires with no lift and has rub isn't running them with 4.5" backspacing. So i'm looking for a bottumn line anwser does it work offroading no rub with 4.5" backspacing.

I had 4.5" backspacing with 33" equivalent tires and still rubbed offroad. My gas mileage dropped by about 1 mile per gallon, in part due to removing my plastic front air dam, and lifting your jeep doesn't automatically void your warranty.

When I spoke to my dealer about a lift and the warranty he told me it would only void the warranty on areas that were replaced with aftermarket. So basically I just voided the warranty on my suspension and nothing else but not a big deal because if I damage something there I would rather replace it myself with aftermarket anyway and not OEM. I have been back a few times for small things like emergency brake making a loud pop noise ( if anyone knows the issue there please let me know because they couldn't find anything wrong) and other minor electrical stuff and had no issues. I'm sure all dealers are different and this may not apply everywhere.

My dealership told me as long as the part in question is stock and can be replaced with stock then they honor it. For example the rear ring in the diff had busted some teeth and I asked them if it was covered. I run 37s and 4in lift. They asked me if the gears were stock then they would be happy to replace. Sadly though I run 5.38s and so I was SOL. But everything else I've taken in for warranty (electrical and what not) they have honored. But my warranty ran out last Friday so I'm on my own now regardless.

Thank you for your respsonse, how about on the road any problems. And when you say they rub off road how bad is it, are you offroading on some mild terrain when it happens or are you talking climbing rocks?
