Default Mod 2010 or trade for 2012?

I know alot of you are considering trading up too. I have a 2010 2 door with 3.73 gears and 6 speed manual. Its just about paid off now and has 38,000 miles (I drive alot). Its bone stock right now. My thoughts are this. Either trade for a 2012 to benefit from the new engine and get one with a hard top or keep my 2010 and modify it the way I want and buy a 2nd car (something that gets good gas mileage) to rack up the miles on driving to work. Thoughts? Opinions?

Mod it. It would be cheaper to get a Ripp supercharger that will make the 3.8 more powerful and some people say u will get better gas milage. Plus there is so much stuff that is available for the 2010 compared to a 2012.

Trade it. I'm going to trade my 08 JKU Rubicon for an 12 JKU Rubicon. After a road trip in my 08 JK to the Dusy Ershim two weeks ago. The trip made the decision for me that extra power in the 2012 JK would make a lot nice vehicle for these trips. The 3.8L just to weak push the JK around. I have 5.38 gear and it just help a little.

If it's almost paid for you'll have a nice chunk to put down on a '12, but do you want another auto payment? That's what it comes down to.

Our opinion is if your JK is built up, you love it -AND- if you only hate the power, fix the power with the blower. - the 2012 is nicer, but only marginally more powerful and we speculate that built up they will still be down on power.

I have a 2008 2dr and a 2012 4dr both Saharas. The 2012 is a big improvement interior,motor, and transmission. You should test drive a 2012 then decide.

Default RIPP on 08 Rubi Auto

Just had RIPP do the install on my 08 Unlimited Rubi Auto - HUGE difference. I went back and forth with 2012 vs Hemi Swap vs RIPP. My 08 has been problem free for the past 46K miles. With the mods on my car already - an 2012 would have been an expensive upgrade to add the upgrades back, so that was ruled out. For my purposes, the hemi was a tough sell to have it done 'right'. I didn't want the worries of a used engine/trans. RIPP won. The guys at RIPP were awesome too with the install - nice clean job. Great customer service. These guys know their stuff.

Car has the power now to go uphill, and pass without worrying. Haven't tracked it long enough, but I suspect better gas mileage. Still have the 4.10's ... but will be moving to 4.88. Thanks again guys @ RIPP.

What about people with a 2011? No ripp kit? Or will you be addressing that. I'm also imagining what supercharging the pentastar would be like? I'm thinking the 2012 is the better choice.

If you want a stick...mod it.
If you want an auto...trade it.
