Memorable/Funny Compliments and Reactions Towards Your JK

Ok, When I first purchased my jeep and was driving home from the stealership I got an interesting comment. I was on the phone with my wife telling her that so far I am only getting thumbs up from the guys and that she had nothing to be jeoulous about. I pull into a gas station that overlooks the highway when I see this car drive across the highway medium and heads right towards the gas station I am at... he gets out of the car, looks at my jeep, and with the most gay like quality makes a huge and drama like comment about how great the jeep looks. I proceeded to call my wife back and told her she definately had nothing to worry about.
Since then I have been getting a mix of folks complementing the Jeep.
The Ladies on my team all love it when I drive for lunch time outings. I keep a small plastic stool so they can climb into the jeep with out jumping. They absolutely love the extra attention as I wait on them by pulling out the stool.

and yet another
while waiting on the spousal unit outside a restaurant, a male (not a gentleman as you will soon read) got out of his mini van that was parked adjacent to me. He asked about the JK and then said "Oh, I thought it was a H3". I recommended for him to return to his mini van.....his wife was laughing loudly at him. Immediately, a waitress from inside the restaurant walked outside to inquire about the JK. My wife was close behind and I was not allowed to embark on tales of woe....or anything else to do with tails.

While camping at Lassen Volcanic National Park a couple weeks ago the camp hostess, well past 70 I'm sure, came and complimented my JK. She called it cute, too. But that was after explaining that her husband had built Jeeps to race in Baja for years before passing away. She explained how they had gotten to be friends with Paul Newman. I guess she's earned the right to call my JK cute.

I have had numerous conversations with people in parking lots and in drive thrus and always see the look on people's faces that are driving Grand Cherokees and Commanders and you just know they want one! The best was when I was driving down the street one day I had a guy physically chase me down the street running. I pulled over and he began asking me all sorts of questions which I happily answered. He then asked me if I could wait a minute while he ran in to get his wife so she could see it. It was pathetic watching this poor man beg his wife for a Jeep just like mine!!!

my contribution to this thread...
Since having my JK, I've gotten alot of recognition....people giving me the thumbs up on the freeway and lots of "hey...cool jeep", but the funniest was at Best Buy one night a high school kid and his girlfriend were walking in while I was parking. Had the front of my freedom top off and the young guy was tripping to get a look. I was walking through the dvd's and as i passed both of them the kid looked at me and said "that's a kick ass jeep man", i said thanks and as I walked away his girlfriend told him how gay he was! I got a good laugh, but none the less I've never owned something that got so many compliments.....

I had two dumb/funny questions about my Jeep:
1) From a "girly-girl" office worker: Wow! Cool - does the top come off? (soft-top was on -- wouldn't you think she'd have known better?)
2) From a MALE office manager: I like it - looks tough... So, can that thing go offroad?
Needless to say, I don't work at that office anymore!

I seem to get more comments about the Jeep than I do on my Magnum. People keep asking me when I plan to wash it.

haha!
...man I was thinking today about how sad I'm going to be in the future when people stop complimenting and turning their heads my way. I've never owned a vehicle that turned more heads than my JK.

By far my funniest experience was the first time i went doorless. I was out crusin when my girlfriend said she wanted some dairy queen, so i drove to the closest one. Of course, there are tons of people outside. One young child starts running toward my jeep. I was doing about 2 mph, but of course the kid's dad still worries and runs over and grabs him. The kid is so excited he cant even get the words out of his mouth quick enough. "But daddy.... that..... car..... it has..... it doesn't have WHEELS" So i laughed and drove around to the drive through, got my ice cream, and thought it would be funny to drive past this kid again. This time he had his mouth full of ice cream, and i could barely made out what he said, but i think it was "DADDY ITS BACK!!" I have to say, i've had a number of compliments, but the sheer enthusiasm of this child really made my day.

while waiting at a traffic light in Richmond, VA, a gentlman next to me commented on how "cool" the JK is.....light turned green he sped off and I noticed the remains of shoe polish numbers in his back glass. Next stop light I ask him how he did at the dragstrip...he looked real surprized and asked how I knew...told him about the numbers and he thanked for saving his marriage....he had been racing mama's SRT Charger and had not washed the numbers off!!!!!

I've had countless compliments, and a few "hummer" comments too. I've had people come over to me at the gas station and go through it. I've had one guy in a TJ pass me and then when I pulled into walmart he waved me over and complimented me and asked some questions. The other day I was paying out at a drive through. I asked the guy how much, he said, "6.50 plus your jeep". I get a lot of stares in line when I pick up the kids at school, mostly from moms in suvs, but also a lot of pitiful stares from dads in minivans.
