Manual transmission
I noticed so many people on here have automatics, including a lot of my friends. I however prefer the manual for the jeep it just has so many advantages to the automatic, and one of the most important is that my girlfriend can't drive it! Lol. I wonder how many people get a manual so their wife or girlfriend can't use it?

i have a manual and enjoy it. i do long 4 an automatic in stop and go traffic though. its not the main reason for the manual but i do like that not everyone can just jump in and drive it. it does kinda suck that everyone thinks that because u have a manual you vehicle will make a great testing ground for them to learn - go burn out someone else's clutch!

Yeah, automatic was never a option, I only would buy a, manual jeep. So much more control and power if I need it. I find that automatics always shift at low rpm ranges and its hard to get power unless you floor it.

My first car was a manual, bought it and didnt even know how to drive manual haha.
Traded it in for a auto 04 Jimmy zr2, drove it for 2 years, hated every moment of driving it
Traded in the Jimmy for a 04 TJ Rubicon 5spd and vowed to never buy auto again hehe.
Now Rocking a 2011 JKU Rubicon 6spd!

I like the manual tranny, it helps keep the mini-van motor pulling. As far as the the gf/wife goes, she knows all to well how to drive the standard. Before our first date was over she got in the drivers seat (with RED highheels) and started doing donuts in a plowed cornfield. Now that we are married its a fight over who gets to drive the Jeep.
