I found a m101a2 trailer for a good price. You think my 2dr (3.73) will handle it? I read somewhere it weighs around 1300lbs empty. I want to use it to pull firewood out of the woods. Id rather have a m416 or the CAm101, but im not having any luck finding one. what do you guys think?

That will leave you 700lbs you can put in the trailer. Not a whole lot. If you do go that route make sure the trailer brakes work. I think your first impulse is correct hold out for a lighter trailer that matches your vehicles.
You can pull a little more than the rating if you keep your head about you and know how to properly use the trailer brakes. But, you will not be happy with the jeeps performance.

I picked up a Belmont 4X8 utility trailer that weighs 500 #'s. The Jeep certainly knows its pulling a trailer. I looked at Bantam trailers but concluded that while they look awesome, they aren't very practical. I think you'd be better off with a new utility trailer that weighs less.

Besides the weight, it's also wide. Check out my thread as I'm building an old compact pickup bed trailer to be my expedition trailer. I picked this up off craigslist for $250. All in after I do the work, I should be under $1000
