Lowest price for a 2008 2-door Rubicon?
First let me say THIS FORUM ROCKS! I've been ghosting for a while because I don't own a jeep (yet) but am looking into buying one with the deals going on this month - 0% financing for 36 months.
Question. What can a new 2 door Rubicon be negotiated down to? Is Edmunds correct in showing 24.8K for invoice price? Have any of you purchased below this price?
Still trying to decide between an X and Rubi and have rented the X and found it IS AWESOME OFFROAD even in stock form so I can't imagine how much better the extras on the Rubi would add to the smile factor.
Thanks for your feedback!!

I'd get as many Invoice prices online as possible. Edmunds is a good start, MSN Autos is another source, as is Car and Driver, etc.
That'll give you a rough ballpark figure as to what to expect. You're probably going to have to work to get near the invoice price, and you're probably not going to get it on day 1.
I shopped around for weeks to get my price. I went to several dealerships after work, messed around with them to see if they'd sell. I kept getting closer and closer every attempt, and the dealers had my phone number every time.
I tried one dealership finally, told them what another dealership said they'd sell me a jeep on the lot for (Didn't even lie), but told them I wanted another $2000 for my trade in. It took a little work on his part, but he basically gave me a Jeep for 300 below invoice (Plus my trade in...). I'm Paying about 14,000 for an X (Including interest) with a 5000 trade in (So 19000). I don't know if it's a killer deal or not, but it was my very first time getting a new vehicle, so I was pretty proud of how I did.
I was in shock when he told me the interest price though. I don't even have a credit card, and my previous car payments were to my parents (They sold me their cars at Edmund Trade-in costs, as they were in the market for their own cars at teh times). 5.01% interest on a 63 month Term. I was expecting something about twice that (Without a cosigner... of course if it were that High, I would've had a cosigner...)

Also, it looks like you forgot to throw in the Destination charge, which would bring it up about $700. You can't negotiate that, so the number would be more attune to 25,300 (and you're probably going to have to add tax to that) Again, it's going to take more work to get to that number though.
The TMV price edmunds posts is a very good target, so I think getting anywhere under the TMV price is a good deal.
