Default LOVE my Duratracs

I know, I know...tons of threads on this but man I love these tires. We had some nasty weather, not a lot of deep snow but several inches, ice, 30MPH wind. Despite all of that you would have thought my Jeep was on rails. It is amazing the difference the right tire makes. It literally is a different performing machine. I genuinely feel like, if driven correctly, there isn't much that my Jeep could not make it through - within reason of course being stock height.

You too?
I was thinking the same thing last night driving home at 1am in the storm. Just going through drifts like nothing was there. -Safely of course.

Guys - What is the tire wear like in summer? I have basically made up my mind on these in 35's but I am unsure if the compound is too soft and wears easy. Tires are quite an investment in the jeep at $1600 just for tires.

I just got mine, so I will defer to others on the summer wear characteristics. As for size, mine are 285/70/17. I have the air dam removed so I dont know if that would rub. I had to put a couple washers on the steering stops to keep it from hitting the sway bar. I took it on a mild trail and had no other rubbing with normal travel.

I have 315/70/17 duratracs, and the wear is good so far. I see little to no wear at about 10k miles. all summer/fall driving.

They are incredible in the snow.

2wd in 6 inches of snow. doesnt hesitate.

Got mine last spring and just had them rotated... I had to look very carefully to even tell which one they rotated in. They still look brand new...

Default Magazine article

Just saw an article in in Four wheel and sport on the duratrac. I wish these tires came in 37"+ sizes, I'm just sick of seeing eight threads a week on these tires and how great they are Unfortunately I am not willing to go back to 35"s with my current set up and wheeling tendencies. Bottom line, I'm just jealous.

I have put about 6k on my 285's and hardly notice any wear at all. Run about 34 psi. Very pleased with these! Have been excellent in the rain and on the trail. Looking forward to seeing how well they do for the einter. It's December in MA and there is no snow on the ground for me yet tho...

Love em so far. Got about 2000 miles on them and that includes some snow driving in tahoe last month.
