Loops for Tie Downs/Bungies

Sometimes I have big stuff to haul so I need to take them out at my convenience. I went for the anchor plate kits. I cut 1 1/2 holes in the carpet and ordered (still waiting) 1 1/2 rubber grommets to finish out the holes. I placed 9 of them around the rear seat and cargo compartment.

Actually those kits come with stainless screws, your choice of 1", 1.5" or 2" lengths. Drill two holes, slop on some touch up paint and silicone, line up the bottom plate with the top (it's doable solo, but really easy with a third hand,) tighten the two screws and the plates are mounted.
The screws are machined to fit flush in the top part of the plate. This will allow you to remove and reinsert the rings at will. If clearance on the bottom plate is an issue, a Dremel with a cut off wheel will remove it nicely. Plan on one wheel per screw though. Cheers!

Used those little oblong slots in the rear rails to anchor a weekend full of crap for a top of ride home last night. I tightened a couple of cam straps down (cam, not ratchet and tightened by hand) and the metal around the opening folded like tinfoil. Scary stuff.

How about some pics . I'd like to see where/how you located them.
