The plastic header piece that runs across the front of the soft top that has the latches attached snapped on my JK. Not covered under extended Warranty and Chrysler won't step up to the plate. Cost - Parts only. $521.00. Ouch.
Luckily enough - my dealer Gerry Wood Jeep in Salisbury, NC. stepped up to the plate and will replace it for me minus $100.00 deductible because they want to keep my service business.

How in the world did you snap it?
As many times as I've had mine off, I never realized it was made of plastic.
And that cost is well SH*T.

Don't know. I released both latches and tried to lift the roof from the drivers side and the plastic piece snapped just to the left of the passenger side latch.

I dont really get how it wouldnt be covered under warranty.
Did you try asking at another dealer? Does the soft top have a different warranty? I mean I could see them not covering trail scratched windows, but it isnt like that plastic piece would break under normal use.

I'm out of Factory warranty so Chrysler won't cover it and my Extended warranty doesn't cover roof parts. The Dealer stepped up to the plate and will replace it for me for $100.00 labor only. But I have to wait because the part is on National backorder.
