Let's talk tires....

I've been running my 33" Duratracs for a year now (300+ miles a week) and I work up in the pocono mountains of PA where there is lots of snow. This is the best all round snow and offroad tire that I've had on any jeep in 20+ years.

I hate to tell you but in deep mud, the duratracs will not be on par. A friend of mine got stuck in a hole with duratracs that my trail grapplers went through without any effort. And they aren't nearly as durable on rocks and other sharp objects. Then again you are comparing an all terrain to a mud terrain

My personnel favorite tire is Toyo Open Country MT's and I actually consider them to be a bad ass looking AT.
Also keep in mind the roads and autobahn are of the best engineering in the world unlike I-70 and the rest of out Interstate network.
I do however have a caveat of numerous recommendations for specifically one tire.
Have you considered the Nitto Trail Grappler? IMO it is one of the best looking tires on the market and the people I know that run them "gush" over them in any performance category you discuss with them. Highway driving, mileage, road noise, mud, snow, dirt, sand, rocks and heard someone talking about the moon once a few months back.
Unfortunately the reality is we choose tires just like our pistols...how they look!

Since the Duras are considered an A/T, they are very good at every type of terrain. But they will never be as good in the mud as a dedicated Mud Tire. They will never be as good on the rocks as a dedicated M/T tire. And they will never be as good on the street as a dedicated street tire. But they are probably the best A/T tire you can find.
