Keep dog in back
I love to take my friend (dog) along when I go anywhere. And he LOVES to go for rides ANYWHERE!! But a couple times he has decided he should be in the drivers seat when I return from say in the store.
The 2 front seats are for humans in my book. Has anyone come up with a good divider in there jeep to keep pets in the rear?

w ww.jeepcargonet.com is where I picked up one for my amstaff and my shepherd. Works pretty good and not too expensive.
I would love to see cop4x4 make one.

....see, and this is what I have never understood, people travelling with dogs loose....I love my dog probably more so than I do myself and I would never travel anywhere without my seatbelt on, so I don't expect my dog to travel anywhere without her seatbelt on either....i completely agree the front seat is no place for a pup, but ontop of that, I purchased a nice harness that allows you to strap your pup in to the seat belt so in case of an emergency situation, pooch has hopefully as much protection as I do....what I can't stand even more are those people that leave their dogs unrestrained in the back of pickups

And thanks for the suggestions on nets. Those are great ideas. A little more searching and comparing and I will be buying one without a doubt.

Ok, I posted this last night but it didn't come through, first time for everything, so here goes (hope I am not being editted by one of the moderators! )
Anyway, Heidi when she is not driving is in a Ruffrider Roadie available from ruffrider.com or now even on Amazon. I will try to post some pics a little later today as this is the best harness I have found (and I have looked hard!). The key to this harness is that it has NO buckles to break in an emergency and literally becomes part of the jeep (every bit as good as a seat belt). I have it anchored with a large caribiner to the seat attachment point in the back. Heidi has the ability to move about freely but can only come so far into the front. With the cargo nets (soft top installed) or hardtop on she has a second level of security and safety. (She may be my best friend, but there's a lot of money and time invested in her training too)
The nets I have again are IMHO the best I've found for the JK. They are manufacture by Raingler (raingler.com), a Colorado based company and carry a lifetime warranty. Here's a shot of Heidi looking out the back of her jeep with the summer nets on.
I also want to add that as a dog advocate some states have passed laws against unrestrained pets in a moving automobile or truck. I doubt they are actually enforced most of the time but at least it's something. Dogs are in my opinion brilliant aliens whose language we just can't speak yet. They (the dogs) seem to be doing a pretty good job of understanding our language though!
