15000 may sound rediculous, but when you have to replace every nut bolt and rivet in those doors the price really adds up. I sell Ford parts and to put a rear tailgate together these days is over 3000.00. The dealer wouldn't be able to overprice the insurance co, the insurance co knows what list price is. It is amazing how ballsy thieves are, taking all that in a parking lot is just insane.

I asked about those in another thread, the consensus was they are useless. Not to mention I guess a hacksaw can cut through them fairly quickly.

They may deter the casual crook, but from the looks of it they wouldn't have stopped what happened to the OP.

So sorry to hear this. I was down at Ft. Lee in May for training. That area is pretty bad. I drove a cheap POS rental so that I didn't have to bring my Jeep down there from Drum. Anyway, I'll be downrange in two weeks, as well. Stay safe brother.

Does the Hotel bare some responsability here ?

Do they have a security guard

Those were not items stolen from inside a vehcle.

Most hotel have insurences for cases like this.

Another example of Left Coast thinking. I assume VA is just as rational as Texas. Steal or vandalize at night and lethal force is authorized and encouraged. In Texas, you can kill to retrieve your property so long as it's the only way you think you'll get it back. Just check the conceal carry laws in Texas.

Out of the Navy these days, so I was on Blue water for my short times deployed. Stay safe and bring your buddies home, and do your best to leave it behind when you get back to the world. You have to do what you have to do to stay alive and keep your brothers alive as well, don't let it take you over. God's speed, and fairwinds shipmates. And, thank you for your continued service.
