Is the VIN or other identifying numbers recorded on the removable body parts? If I recall my 4runner has little plates with the vin number riveted to all the doors and hood. Watch craigslist and ebay for someone selling white doors and hood, maybe you'll get that opportunity to clean part of the gene pool after all. :-)

Very fishy, I would be notifying the local authorities on this one. If someone suddenly supplies pingtime with some white doors it could be a possible lead...same area and all....
That said, it's really sad to see this. Hell I don't even lock my soft top and threw the door nuts away first time I took the doors off.

Unfortunately I don't have the time to do police work. I have 10 weeks before I get deployed. I'll just get it fixed and upgrade the security alittle.

That's unbelieveable. Sorry about your luck man. I would be pissed also. I put the hood lock from jeep on mine that uses your ignition key to lock. $100 bucks but I think its worth it. Door hinge locks also. Sucks that you have to do anything to stop such people.

Wow, I have never seen that one before. They must have had a little bit of knowledge with Jeeps. Most people have no idea that the doors even come off now a days. Its gotta suck 10 weeks before you deploy. One more thing to sort out now. Good luck!
