Got this notice and took it to the stealer last Saturday. I asked alot of questions. Wanted to know what this fix's ? Basically nothing. The tranny already had a sensor installed but was not programmed. Now have a red hot/oil icon with two small lightening bolts on each side of it. Comes on for 15 secs after turning ignition key. Asked when does over heat happen ? Happens in city traffic or low gear when wheelin. Trans fluid overheats above 220 *, spills out of fill area onto the hot engine or exhaust manifold causing a flame up.
The idiot light tells the operator to pull over and shut down the engine until cooled. I tilted my head and looked at the service manager like he was crazy. I ask then what, he said thats it. Chrysler is covered. I repeatedly stated that is by no means fixing the problem I asked why they are not installing a trans cooler. His response was they sell them to paying customers, available for around $500 plus 2 hrs. labor at $110 ea. They took my name and number and said they couldnt give an exact price as they can't find if the cooler is available. Weds. is now over and they are not going to call. Freakin bozo's. I am having a neighborhood trans repair shop install the cooler with a temp control fan for $400. I have way too much invested in this project to allow it to go up in smoke because of another design flaw.
Oh, they flash the computor to force recognition of the sensor. While flashing the computor, they found that my power train software was outdated. They have a new updated powertrain software and they flashed that in also. Tryed to get info on the update but that was like speaking Japanese. Never got one word of an answer for the powertrain update.

Thank you for the information Bmore. I haven't received my notice as of today. With summer coming and wheeling in 4L all day I would like to have this completed.
The software update may be a good thing. Have you noticed any change after the update?
