I was driving up north to see my girl friend and as I was cruising the Jeep started sputtering, I pull off and it stops as im getting back on the freeway it starts sputtering again like I don't have gas or something I get out and as I reached for the hood latch a flame pokes its nasty little head out of the side. Needless to say by the time the fire department arrived my jeep was gone. I am going to the wrecking yard tomorrow to get pics.... I am ok I wasn't hurt just shook up and I cried for about 5 mins. Its replaceable along with my belongings. When the fire was put out the only thing left in the engine bay was the engine block.... I will keep you guys up to date.
JUST KIDDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Say, could you tell us all what the cause was so hopefully we can avoid the same fate?

Was talking to my neighbor yesterday, was talking about my jeep. He told me one of his co-workers had a 2008 Sahara that burned up in the last week or so. Total loss. I'll try to get some more details.

LOL
Just being an idiot, but i will have my extinguisher installed today.
I guess no use of it if it's in the garage.
but if it burns.....might let it burn all the way so i can get a new one versus repairs.

I'm sure Chrylser knows about the problem but it's all about the formula.
number of vehicles it's likely to effect (X)
cost of out of court settlement (Y)
cost to perform recall (Z)
X x Y < Z = no recall
X x Y > Z = recall
