Default JK Unlimited Side Air bags -to have or have not?

Just curious how many got the side airbags in their JK's, seems like most of the new ones on the dealer lots don't have them. Wondering if it's just not a popular option?

I would not get them. When you get aftermarket seats the chime will never go off in the dash. They also make it more difficult to find seat covers. One more thing to break/maintain.

+1 Does that make them harder to take the doors off

They are located in the side of the driver and passenger's seat so it shouldn't affect the door removal.

Correct. I have them, removing the doors just makes them kinda pointless

I'm a bit biased as i've lost family members to side impact crashes, but I would say get em.

That's the way I'm leaning, and can fully understand your bias (sorry to hear that), just having a hard time finding them equipped that way on the dealer lots.

Correct....does not affect door removal in any way...

I have just been a little leery of putting on seat covers...did not want to be ejected out of the top if the bags ever fired.......

I have them. I transport my grand kids in my JK. There's no such thing as too much protection when it comes to these children.

Got kids or grand kids who may ride up front? Spend the money.

My regards,

Widewing
