I have an '07 as well and just turned 50K. I had to replace my battery about 2 weeks ago, but my battery kept dying and would crank. Took it as an opportunity to buy an Optima. Did you check out your fuses? It would be worth swapping it out even if it looks good. Worth trying to rule it out.

Yep, sounds like the fan, or the power to the fan.

x2
fine on the move, overheating on stops...

there should be a fan relay, or control module

whenever i need a wiring diagram i purchased a service manual from that "auction site" seems people get replicas of the actual dealership service manuals..its been a ton of help for me in the past...reminds me i still need to get one for me

hopefully someone out there already had one they can scan for everyone to look at?

I have a digital version and did try looking up how the fan control circuit works. That manual ('07) is sadly lacking. Could not find anything beyond a vague reference to a two-speed control. Nothing in the parts breakdown that I could find; nothing in wiring diagrams; nothing in the maintenance procedures. I think having hardcopies makes it a bit easier to find some of this stuff, but being more familiar with these books than me would help a lot. I hope someone pipes up with some more detailed info about how the fan is controlled, because the problem may be in that control circuitry.

Congrats on a fairly quick diagnose and fix. Glad to hear your rig will be back to normal in no time.
