If jk was towed about a mile on a tow dolly with transmission in neutral and transfer case in 2h... what kind of damage could have been done?

Uhhh... am I missing something here? You were in neutral, should be fine... 2H is the normal transfer case position and if you were in neutral it doesn't really matter anyway?
Sounds just like the way you should tow it on a dolly whether 1 mile or 100...

I just wanted to make sure. I was under the impression the transfer case needed to be in neutral regardless whether 2 or 4 tires on the ground when being towed. In this case the transfer case was left in 2h and transmission left in neutral.

To get this right, your trans was in N and the transfer-case was in 2H?
Wouldn't the driveshaft spin the transmission? If the transmission spins without the engine driving the trans pump, you would eventually damage the transmission. Now, after just a mile, I don't think you have anything to worry about.

for that short distance your fine but on a longer haul the drive shaft can turn over the transmission causing wear. the reason for this is that the pump in most trans only pumps in drive or reverse not park or N hope this helps

Indeed the reason you see so many Jeeps being towed behind RV's is the fact that the transfer case can be put into N. Going forward make sure that is the case but if it was really only a mile than don't think too much damage could have been done.
