JK are better than the older models, of course.

But, I don't trust the computers made by Chrysler (Toyota is better for that)

I hope that the Chrysler's new technology will be good within the next 10 years

The JK is really nice with all the new bells and whistles and a Great ride, but deos not compare to the oldschool dash, and ruggedness of the CJ

I like my jk way better than my past jeeps, I've had a chance to drive tjs and cjs from my friends, and I cant believe how bad they feel, I don't remember my jeeps being that bad, I guess i didn't have anything to compare with. On a different note, now I drive my Jk for long trips, I never wanted to do that with my TJ or the CJ.

I think everyone here is getting off Topic. He didn't ask if you like the JK better, he asked which was more Rugged.

I currently own a 82 CJ7 and my 07 Wrangler so I can tell you what I think.

As far as comfort and long trip driving the JK wins hands down.

However as far as durability the CJ wins Hands Down. My CJ is over 25 years old and I have actually put thousands of offroad miles on it. The only problem with it is rust. Yeah stuff breaks but the CJ has a lot less to break

I think the plastic is used for cost cutting, but its also for improved performance and mpg...
