So I'm planning on making a custom insert tool kit for my JKUR, instead of just carrying a socket kit with 200 sockets in it. What tools, sockets, torx sockets etc. should I include in the kit in case of a breakdown (or a self made breakdown) to get me home? Size, application and tool brand (if relevant) would be appreciated!

Yup, that was a good link Jay. I'd reiterate what I said in my post there.....it's the oddball things that are not part of a normal set that you should really think about as you run across a couple of those things while working on the jeep.
from linked thread -
"I know that doesn’t really answer the question from the OP, or at least in the way you wanted. I think the question that I would ask is if there are any tools you might ever need that are NOT part of a normal set. Along the lines of a 13mm 12-pt socket for unit bearing bolts, or a tiny 5/16 box wrench for a lot of after-market DC drive shafts bolts (at TC side u-joint), or 36mm socket for front axle shaft nut, etc. But, a lot of these things also depend on how hard someone wheels."
I bought a new socket set this year and now just keep my old set, which is in a nice flat case, in the jeep full-time. Besides that socket set I always have torque wrench, 2' breaker bar, and 2' crescent wrench in my jeep "trunk" at all times. I am the type of person that will pull over on the side of the road to help folks so I just like to be prepared. When going on a wheelin trip I pretty much pull anything i could possibly need off my tool wall (most things like screwdrivers, torx drivers, wire snips, small picks, etc are held with magnetic strips) and toss em in a bag.

This is a great thread, and I am in the same boat. I just picked up an awesome Rhino USA tool bag, and am also looking for the best way to fill it. Tired of carrying around a plastic box of tools. I had one literally explode hitting a bump and had about 300 tools everywhere lol. I also like to hear what tool brands is everyones go to..
