My bumper cover has the same brown spot on it. Although, I haven't noticed anything actually dripping on it.

get a picture of this and we might be able to see what's going on.

It can't be mountain edition specific.

And it can't be rust yet. my JK isn't rusting anywhere but the skid plates even after 50,200 miles. In Ohio.

I'll snap some tonight, it;s nto that its mountain specific I think it is just that on mountains and saharas it is just very noticable because the bumpers aren't all black

Same problem here with a 2010 Sahara. It seems it related to the tire protector they use and the light color bumpers.

It keeps getting less of a problem as time and washes goes by. I'm only able to remove the stain by using some polishing compound with a rag.

It doesn't seem to be rust ad I had the problem from the first week of ownership with less than 50 miles on the Jeep.

Default I think it must be the protectant

It's definately not rust, it'st just annoying as hell because soap and water doesn't take it off...here is my bumper after 1 rainy night up in MA, oddly enough I find the best thing to take it off with is armoral interior wipes, wierd

I've had that too. I usually notice it after using a wheel/tire cleaner. I was thinking after a tire rotation it could be brake dust+water solution dripping down if they're not cleaning the rim out before mounting it to the carrier?

well i havent had any rotation i only have 500 miles on my jeep, it has to be the tire protectant, but I hope it's just the one they use its going to be pretty annoying if i cant put any protectant on there without that happening, i just bought the black magic wheel wet stuff i guess we will see after i clean off all the junk they have on it

Mine had those same stains on it at the dealer before I even took it home. They cleaned them off there (not sure what with) and I got my spare tire cover over the spare before the next rain, so I'd have to assume it's whatever tire treatment they use, as it hasn't show back up... Though an entirprising bird managed to drop a load down behind my spare yesterday...

Did you buy the 'rust-protectant' kool-aide from the dealer too? Any chance it's dripping out from the interior of the tailgate?
