After seeing this thread this morning, I took notice when driving today:

1. Crossed 7 wranglers and 6 waved back
2. One wrangler full of girls waved, honked and cheered (wife just gave me the eye)

...the wave ain't dead

"One wrangler full of girls waved, honked and cheered (wife just gave me the eye)"

Never got that enthusiastic of a response! What am I doing wrong?

Jeep wave is very hit or miss around here. Saturday was beautiful so I went out for a drive and was 5 of 6 for retruned waves. The hold out was a girl in a yellow JK.

Thumbs up

Nice weekend in Boston so I taught the gf how to drive in the JK (she wants one too ). While she (driver) was concentrating on the road I noticed that every JK we passed waved at us - so I returned the waves. To date however, no TJ/YJ driver has waved or returned my wave?

I like the whole jeep wave thing - it's fun

On the same day I tried the wave to other bmw drivers and to my surprise, some actually acknowledged... the good weather must've made everyone happier and friendlier

Being new to the Jeep world, I didn't get the briefing about waving. I felt bad after another Jeep driver waved and I didn't react quick enough to return the gesture. I learned shortly thereafter that waving was a must for Jeep drivers and I am making up for my mistake. That should be put up front in the owners manual or atleast be part of the little orientation the dealership gives you when you buy one.

The "JEEP Wave" is alive and well in my part of NC. But then again, since I only own a Sahara, maybe it's just the real JEEP owners waving to me out of pity. Or the occasional soccer mom.

Indeed. Most of the pinheads working at the stealership are as clueless about the wave as they are everything else Jeep...

To most of those clowns selling Jeeps is the same as selling any other "car".
