Jeep Wave

I don't think it's dying, but rather congestion on the roads in some areas and the diverse types of owners is what contributes to people not waving back IMO. I usually take a hand off the wheel and wave through the windshield or out the window. Only time I miss one is if I'm in heavy traffic and paying more attention to other cars. I've been getting a lot of waves back since summer began. I've also been seeing a lot more Wranglers out there since it got warm.

I knew about the wave when I got the librerty... no one waved back. Now I have the 2 door rubi... some wave, most don't. Some folks reaction to the wave is like the forgot about it, or they were surpised that someone waved. We have a lot of jeeps here, lots of folks do not wave. We have a lot of military, you can tell they are miltary, tops/doors off and very short hair and sun glasses. But most of the do not wave, too busy trying to go fast.
Now the sad part... we have a lot of young blonds driving TJ's, tops/doors off (on the jeep) and most of the time I am with my wife. Not sure if they would wave back, haven't tried.

i have an unlimited and i'm sad to say it's this version of the wrangler that may have killed the wave. like a post above, the wave is coming from / returned by someone who has the appreciation for an offroad vehicle. i notice since the unltd's came out most people who drive them just got them because it's the new hot 'suv'. honestly, it's freakin' july and HARD TOPS are still ON!!!??!! most of them are sahara's so i KNOW YOU GOT BOTH!
you can tell right away who's going to wave back at you and who won't. i still wave, but when i don't get it back i mutter to myself 'a$$hole' and chalk it up to them being yuppies who got the 'chrome trim' package to make it look like a hummer. whatever man. this is my take on the dying wave anyways.
we passed by a brand new deep water blue sahara yesterday on the way back from wheeling full of frat boys, there were 3 of us filthy from the trails. not one of us got a wave back...i'm certain he was on the way to the mall to check out the latest froghurt stand anyway...so i muttered a$$hole and my buddy muttered a$$hole on the cb and we kept driving.

I've gotten to the point where I'm gauging it on how many Wranglers I get to wave to. I don't expect a wave in return because I rarely get one. I'm just happy to see another Wrangler on the road.
On the breaking down of other Jeepers to get them to wave I managed to break down a fairly nice YJ on my way to classes every day. It took about two weeks but he finally noticed and starting waving to me.

I was driving down Rt.2 in CT yesterday, on my way to the RI beaches (Misquamicut). I was (am) topless, and waved at a bunch of Jeeps.
Most did NOT wave back, and I was very disappointed. But, I still waved anyways.
Once at the beach though, waves in abundance (not just from the ocean, either! LOL).
I've never gotten the wave from anyone except other Wranglers. If a Cherokee or Liberty waved, I'd wave back. I can't even imagine getting a wave from a Patriot or Compass though.
