Yeah, some wave and some dont. I have been waving at the same jeep that i pass every day on my way home from work for over a year now. He never waves back, but thats ok cause i'll see another some way down the road that will wave back. My youngest son, who is 7 like to see other jeepers wave, he'll always say, "dad, theres another one of your jeep buddies". Makes me smile

My wife had to take the Jeep out this morning to run a few errands and she called me pissed as to why some people didn't wave. I had to explain that some are to snobby to wave and others just don't know about it! I told her to just wave at all of em and if they don't wave back just brush it off! I was just proud of her for trying and not being like those soccer moms that don't know anything about a Jeep other than it's a convertible.

When folks are obviously not looking, it's okay. However, when they look directly at you and just drive on, it's frustrating! Back 10 years ago I received waves back all the time. Has the JK attracted too many yuppies and soccer moms that just don't understand the Jeep heritage?

If someone waves I feel obligated to wave back. Or of someone has nice mods ill wave. But I think it is silly.
My vehicle doesn't define me.
Other than driving the same vehicle, I have nothing in common with most other jeep drivers.
Mini drivers do this. VW bug drivers do this. It's not even unique to Jeep.
I'm just a spoil sport. But driving in the city it becomes more of annoyance. There are so many Jeeps who just own because its an SUV. That's fine for them, but I don't feel like I'm in a club with them

Here in Buffalo it seems to be about 40-60 on the wave. It appears to me that most wave backs come from jeeps that have been lifted and / or running larger rubber. I think a lot of the people with stock jeeps are simply unaware of the practice. Recently a friend of mine that purchased his jk about 4 months ago came up to me and asked if I knew I was joining a "cult" when I bought mine. I just laughed and told him to enjoy the ride, jeep owners are a different breed and we all have at least one thing in common, " It's a jeep thing "
