I have a one man eureka tent from academy, its great for the jeep and it's the one I took on my trip from Dallas tx to Fairbanks Alaska on my motorcycle, but I'm a minimalist so it's not for everyone. I also have my 2 man tent from the Marines that I use when the fiancé goes with

Got the chance to test my new camping gear this weekend.
The Oztent has an attached awning and I also bought the optional side panels. That way I have an additional room I can "park" my Jeep in.
You can cook food on your tailgate table while you stay dry under the awning. I love it!!!
Only downside are the packed dimensions of 63" x 16" x 8".

LOL! I like to travel light, too and have a Hilleberg 2 man for myself. When the wife comes with we have an 8 man base camp tent from North Face.

Disclaimer: I sleep in my jeep when camping, so my opinion is based off of that style camping.

I have had the sportz SUV tent and the jeep tent. The sportz SUV tented is great, you set it up, back jeep up, change, store stuff, use it to sit in, etc. If you sleep in your vehicle this tent is perfect as you can climb right in from the tent, if you don't sleep in your vehicle you can unzip the sleeve and it is a regular tent. Only issue we have ever had is it was a little small. Which is why we bought the Jeep tent. Used it once and sold it. It was fine, I just found it too complicated and big to deal with on a regular basis.
