If your lift is properly set up it should not trip the esp/bas sensors. a proper alignment could be all you need, but with some lifts without adjusting control arms and trackbars and such you might need to disable the system because you cant get the truck in the right specs to keep the system happy. I have a RK3.5 kit (sits a lot higher than 3.5) and my esp/bas rarley goes off. The only time it does is when body roll is extreme, like when i panic brake or take an on off ramp at a high speed. I think jeep sent this out because of how many people have lifted these trucks so with that being said there are probably a whole bunch that have problems with the system going off. It can cause for an unsafe situation if the system reacts and it catches you by suprise, so jeep is going the better safe than sorry route.

I haven't received a letter but I might have to look into this. Last weekend I rotated my tires and discovered I knocked off some weights. Needless to say, the balance was out of wack. I took it to Discount and they just swapped it out with the spare because it called for 19oz. I think it might just be a bad tire but when I had it on the front, the wobble caused ESP/BAS to kick in. I also noticed my rear brakes are wearing about 3 times as fast as the front which I assume is also related to the ESP/BAS

Is it BAS or ABS? Because I know what ABS is, but don't know what BAS is. I know what ESP stands for but not really how it works. Does it modulate the brakes, or start ignoring your throttle input, or both?

BAS is the Brake Assist System which helps with the braking when its applied

I never received this letter. I'm hurt. But, I haven't seen an ESP light in many years. Literally.

About the '07s needing a reflash: That is correct. Most of us received it when we received the recall reflash for the brake failure problem. That was a recall you did not want to ignore. Check and ensure yours got it if you have an '07 (brakes failing on a hill is not a good combo, especially if your hills are things like 14er mountains in Colorado).

70 bucks for a dealership to flash it so it disables the ESP
