It's a Jeep Thing!
Yesterday while I was working I pulled into a convenience store to buy a drink.
As I pulled up I noticed an older Jeep in the parking lot. When I went up to the cash register to pay for my drink there was an older lady there paying for her stuff.
We started talking......she said she loves my JEEP and said that her 1990 YJ didnt pass emission testing and it's all rusted out.....if it would have passed she would have done the body work....but now she is picking up her new 2009 JK in a couple days. She said that her and her husband used to have a 1943 Jeep.
In short we talked for about 20min in the parking lot about Jeeps and how excited she was to be getting a new one.
2 people that would have probably never had a conversation were able to............ all because of our LOVE for JEEPS!!!!

I know what you mean. Samething in my area (France). Jeeps are very rare, and when 2 Jeep owners meet together in a parking lot, they are like 2 old friends! This is a wonderful thing!

I
Yeah I had an old guy stop me in the bank parking lot asking me about mine. He said "yeah I drove one back in the war...." . Needless to say I asked which war and he was HAPPY to oblige! Too bad I cannot remember but I believe it was the second world war or Korean. But anyway he talked about how much bigger and nicer they were now vs the old army issued mule. I let him sit in the drivers seat and he put his hand up on the roll bar and said "man I wish we had these when I was young.... buddy of mine got crushed under his this bar setup you got woulda saved him some headache".
It was fun watching him connect with the younger generation (though I'm 35) and let him tell me some war stories of him and his Jeep!

My current 2007 4 door JK is my first ever Jeep. Most off roaders acknowledge you, and will give me the nice Jeep statement. People especially women, love it. For whatever reason it makes you more approachable, and they accept you right away with a smile. When I drive around in my M3, I get no wave backs, no smiles from women, and get harrassed by wannabe speeders. Chicks dont dig my M3. But as soon as Im in my rig, its a different world. It cant go 168 MPH down the road, but it has a REAL down to earth charm that no BMW or Porsche 997S will ever have. Just thought I would share that with you.

Obama get on that,Wranglers for everyone [/QUOTE]
Now you know he would muck this up..
-a goverment run option on wranglers
--standard 3 cylinder engine (like in the old geo metro)
--2 Wheel drive
--non removable top (just like in the other post, have to have energy efficient glass)
--no customization options, we are becoming more of a country for socialist ideas - so we must all hane the same drive ratio, tires, lift, etc. But we are not communist, so feel free to choice a paint option.
