Im in the market Rubi or Sport?

I am about to order a 2013 JKUR. I found myself in a very similar situation to the one that you are currently in. For me it wound up being about $7,000 difference between the JKU Sport and Rubicon. I will not use most of the hardcore extras on the Rubi like the lockers, electronic sway bar disconnect, and 4:1 transfer case. I wlll most likely use the others, and it is ready to drive, as I do not want to lift it, etc.
To quote Robert DeNiro in the movie Ronin: "If there is any doubt, there is NO doubt." Get the Rubicon if you can afford it. To me it is like buying the Camaro SS or Mustang GT, get what you know you really want, even if it may be more than what you really need.

I thought of getting a Rubi but I then decided to get a Sport and I could modify it as I wanted. 15000 miles later I've off roaded less than a 100 miles. So I've used it as a daily driver literally 99.5 % of the time. Off road it does very well stock, so I am putting any mods on hold.

Hello All!
My wife and I are in the market come December for a new Jeep. She wants a 2011 or newer since the interior is a little nicer. What I am trying to decide is if we need to spend the extra money on a Rubicon or just go with the Sport. Were going to put a 4" lift on it right-away with 37's. My thought is I know that the Rubi's have the extras like electronic sway-bar disconnect, 4.11 gears, and a nice transfer-case (I think), lockers and what not. But I have heard that the front axle is not really a dure Dana 44....is that true?
Were not planning on doing extreme off-roading...but we will be taking it to Colorado, Moab, Arkansas, and other nice places to do some moderate jeepin....but nothing that would require the 14" kings or get over something.
So, given my situation...should I go with the sport and just put a lift, gears, and tires on it? Are there any necessary upgrades that need to be done for moderate jeepin, again...not extreme!
Or, should i just shell out the cash and get the Rubi....Trash the suspension and put my own lift on it and not really worry?
Thanks in advance for all the advice...just wanna get the best bang for my buck at this point!

Just in case you are also considering less lift on a Rubi, but are not sure about the trail capabilities, here's some pics of my last trip: https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/jk-t...7/#post3271610. 2" lift and 32" tires (slightly wider than the stock Rubi KM's) with stock wheels (no spacers).
