A good friend of mine in our club has a 08 4door and his did the same thing. He received a recall on them and they repainted them no questions ask. Everything Ive had done under warranty they have fixed with no problems. I think it depends on the dealership. So good luck with it.
But I'll say this to if you own a jeep your going to have to work on it yourself eventually. That's the love of owning a jeep.

You could buy a set of stainless or aluminum for $600 and never worry again. My family has owned a dozen Mopars in the last decade and have been happy with everyone of them. I've never had any trouble getting work done. I can't believe your dealership doesn't have a body shop.

I'm not saying your story is false, but it sure doesn't follow accepted warranty methods. The reason for this is to prevent people from collecting for proper repairs and then half-assing it and pocketing the money, not to deny anyones deserved warranty protection.
I wrote them a ticket with materials and labor. I do body work on the side, they'll use that to get their reimbursement.

Never had any issues with any of my Jeeps, Dodge pick ups or my SRT10 Viper...I had a 94 Grand Cherokee that had 180,000 on it when i bought it, drove it for 4 years, and sold it back to the first owner's son, who is still driving it, at 292,000 miles Oh i did have a Dakota Quad cab that tossed its power steering pump, while i was doing donuts in 2 feet of snow, at 165,000 miles............

In 1997 I had a new dually diesel with just a few small problems. The dealer was an ass so I successfully lemon lawed it. I swore I would never by Chrysler again. Then I bought my Jk but I never take it to the dealer .............
Oh yeah one more thing

My new HO cummins 4x4 dually just rolled off the assembly line a couple days ago. Should be here in a couple weeks. 800 ftlbs of torque with no exhaust fluid. Can't f'in wait. Hope the dealer service is not still f'ed up.

I've known people with Ford's, Chevy's, Toyota's, etc... that have had plenty of problems and what one would consider poor craftsmanship as well. I guess I've been one of the lucky ones with Chrysler products. I'll go find some wood and knock on it now.

Had the driver door come OFF a Buick. My Volks Vanagon RELIGOUSLY blew R sided head gasket every 45k miles. Water pump went out every 2 years on my Ranger like clockwork. What did I do? Bought another Ford. That's what we DO! Don't wanna believe in planned obsolesence, but do know designers and mechanics should sit down every now and then together to realize that if we have this system that could potentially leak fluids maybe we should not PUT it over this important, complex, electrical thingy.

I hear ya on the crap service from the company. We were so close to ditching Chrysler when we had our Nitro. That was the biggest POS vehicle ever designed.
We test drove the ranger and were going to check out the chev lot, and saw the jeep.
The rest is history.
Sorry for your bad experience.

Absolutely love my Jeep but my dealership isn't scoring any points right now. Currently dealing with denied warranty work on a front axle that snapped on a piddly mountain trail. Chyrsler said I wasn't using it (2010 JK Unlimited RUBICON) "for its intended purpose ... " I guess they figure we'll buy Jeeps no matter what and they can get away with it.
