Pig I'm a ASE certified estimator, a former SF estimator, and have run shops for 8 years, fixed 'em for 35.... you probably don't have a total loss unless you've got more damage that the photos don't show. Not to minimize this situation, but unless there is some strange frame damage, engine or tranny busted, it would be difficult(based on what I can see in the pictures) to come up with 70-75 % retail value's worth of damage to base a total loss claim on. Of course they will take into account rental car expenses, diminished value claim, and bodily injury claims when determining total loss vs repair figures. Also if there is not a capable shop in your area that can put the frame exactly where it should be will sometimes cause the insurance companies to total one in a rural area. Remember in some states if you get YOUR company to repair your jeep and then go against her company for reimbursement then you wouldn't be able to claim deminished value.....Ask your agent about this..... could be 3 or 4 thousand bucks in your pocket.....Best of luck... P.S. Your daytime pictures beat me on the thread by a microsecond- I've looked them over, I still believe what I've posted..... of course I 've been wrong before. LOL MAKE SURE YOU GET YOUR $8.00 FOR YOUR JK STICKERS......

yeah. its at my buddies shop, he basically said the same.

I think the engine might have got pushed up from the impact of the axle, he also mentioned if it damaged the control arm mounts on the frame. They may have to install a new frame..

with the extra insurance I carry, He thinks it'll be fixed. At this point. I dont care eitherway. his shops fixed a truck I rolled over, and it was perfect. The Jk will be no different.

Man I hate that happened, but at least no one was seriously injured. My wife wrecked her 4runner when it was 7 days old ($11k damage) and we had our insurance company pay to repair it, our insurance also paid us diminished value and then went after the other company for the repair bill and the dimished value bill. The guy that hit her had high risk insurance and was giving us the run-around so I went this route. I know things are different for every state but it is something for you to look into.

Good point, but Ohio isn't one of them.
