rails
I got some nice bolt-on rails off eBay and they were way cheaper than anything else I found. simple, round back tubes. Granted they are not as heavy duty as others, but they look sharp. Took about 2 hours to install.

Rubimon,
That's definitely a place to start. I'm sure when the new wears off, it will become easier every time! I did notice that problem after washing mine the first time.
cjones14,
got any pics?

no pics yet (working on some) but I got them from "gogo parts" on ebay.
Here is a link to the eBay site
Again, while they are steel, they aren't real heavy. Won't provide much protection if you plan on doing some serious roading. But for looking sharp while driving around town they are perfect.

Welcome! Glad you were able to join our happy group. When we got our Rubi, the first 2 mods we did were the fuel door cover (to keep dirt and mud out off the gasoline cap) and a locking gas cap to prevent gasoline theft or vandalism. Seemed like a small price to pay for a little security on an expensive vehicle.

CONGRATS
I would suggest looking through all the write ups...
drilled mirrors, door storage, no-door mirrors,
Hood lift fix . . .
Take your time! When I first got mine I wanted it to
become an offroad monster, but after a year of 90%
hwy driving I am interested in making it a better
pavement pounder as well.

HI in5ane- Edit your signature with your oem jeep setup and then add your mods. I would recommend wheel spacers, I love the wide-trac look and the stability. Fuel door lids are nice. Whatever you do your jeep will be one-of-a-kind.....
