I installed a WWII Army Blackout light on my JK

"Blackout lighting is a requirement for certain combat operations. The purposes of blackout lighting are as follows: To provide the vehicle operator with sufficient light to operate the vehicle in total darkness To provide minimum lighting to show vehicle position to a leading or trailing vehicle when illumination must be restricted to a level not visible to a distant enemy."
In short, just enough light to see the trail, just enough light for the convoy to see you, and works like a bright ass light with NODs (Night Optical Devices) on. When I was still in the Army, we were required to have a "guide" walk in front of the vehicle while running "blackout" to prevent running over sleeping soldiers or into foxholes.
On a civilian jeep, its just cool!

Grote makes a modern version with LEDs. I have it on my JK and looks great. Not as authentic as the one he has, but readily avaiblable in places like Amazon.

I with I new about that, it is so much smaller then the big A$$ 65 year old one I put on my JK. you can also just hook it up to 12V. my light is 6V so I could not just put power to it. one think I was thinking of, if you got that one you could cut out a hole in you grll next to your turn light or you could put ot behind your girll!

where I live there are no good places to off road and I found and use all the good places with my WWII Jeep at night and I wanted to use the same spots with my JK. I use the blackout light so no one gets upset. what they dont know won't hurt them.
